What is really happening to your idea!

Hi there,

Yes, today it’s all about goals.

Having the right goal is very important

Because 

It keeps you motivated and reminds you why you are doing whatever you are doing

It lets you check whether you’re progressing on the right track or not

And 

It helps you prioritize your tasks in the right order

Believe me...

Your success and greatness are only as good as your goals

I’ve seen a lot of people are stuck when it comes to priotizing  their goals

It’s not easy to set the right goals...especially when you are just starting out.

Instead of telling you how to set your goals…

 

I will tell you what happens to your goals and ideas when you don't do nothing about it

You must have heard that procrastination is bad for goal achievement

You might have heard also that as you are concieving an idea, so is 1million others conceiving same idea!

Now you are scared, right?

Could this be true?

I am here to tell you, it is absolutely TRUE!

A quick story...

Sometime ago, I had an idea called 'Efiko' as a mother brand of many products.

I concieved the idea thinking that 'efiko' means someone intellectual in the modern Nigerian slang,

It means someone who never runs out of ideas and that was it.

When i discussed with few people, I was convinced I had a fantastic idea.

So I thought of buying a domain name to build my website and infuse other products on it.

But guess what? Oh yeah, someone else has already registered the domain.

I felt shattered and shed a tear. I cried. I imagined the person being a devil sent to spoil my dreams

But I quickly braced myself and thought of another domaiin

I tried, oddideas dot com, Urbrand dotcom etc...

But ALL were not available.

Wow, it was a big challenge. I thought within me, why on earth is the world against me and my dreams?

Then, the truth struck me!

That for every one person thinking about an idea, there are several millions thinking of same idea!

It is hard to swallow but it is a fact!

I found out the hard way but pretty soon.

So what do you do about that idea or goal you want to achieve?

The best is first do your research.

Yes, do your research if someone else is riding on that same idea

And find out who's behind it. It is only then you can know for sure what is really happening to your 

Idea.

Because yeah, ideas are unique but it doesn't mean it is uni-directional.

If someone isn't already doing it which is scarce anyway, then wait no more

Slack no more and start working on it now.

My advice is if you really want to be global, the best is register a platform; a website.

That is a kind of security for your idea.

And start other follow up activities. Don't wait till idea-hunting spirits hunt your idea away from you.

And if your idea has been snatched already, the best is quickly re-route and think of a new one.

Most times, all you need is a new name.

When I discovered my 'efiko' was taken, all I did was sectionalize my idea and work on them differently.

I decided that instead of trying so hard to get a domain name, why don't I just re-ignite my blog and build my personal brands on it?

Why don't I infuse my ideas on my blog and campaign around it?

That is the result of the NCC page on my home page.

So, the best it thinking of a new name with same idea.

Sometimes with a new approach, because the truth is even those who 'snatched' the idea might not even be running it the way you envisioned. It might just be a name thing!

So, I implore you today, start working on your idea.

 

The more you procastinate, the more chances of you not being able to run that idea.

 

That’s when I realized.

No one except me can work on my idea the way I envisioned it.

 

I wanted to be an entrepreneur, something like Richard Brandson who has many businesses and assigned a visioneer to push it  and grow it big.

And it is really happening this time. It is and I can't say I am regretting!

 

That’s what you should do.

Takeaways:

Before picking the goal

Think about your dream…

What do you want to achieve in your life?

What will give you happiness and satisfaction?

Write everything down

Then order them in the sequence that makes sense to you.

But, don’t set too many goals.

Remember…

Goal setting isn't about what you'd like to talk about. 

It's about who you want to become and what you want your life to feel like.

I knew it’s not as easy as the sentence I wrote.

I’m married, have a kid, and got used to a certain lifestyle.

I decided to create products that I can sell to my potential customers.

That has become my short term, smart goal.

Before the end of 2018, I have to create and sell a product to my potential customers.

To sell, I need to grow the email list and Facebook audience. 

Takeaways:

You need to be honest and realistic with your goals.

Most people fail to achieve their goals because they didn’t factor their situation and limitations.

It’s not that you have to change the goals if they sounded impossible considering your situation and limitations

You need to find the right approach to achieve them

And break the grand goal into smaller ones.

I broke the grand goal ‘quit the job and become an entrepreneur’ into three small ones

Grow the email list

Grow the Facebook audience and

Create and sell a product

 

Now, the idea is thoroughly tested and validated.

All I have to do is scale it up.

So, I  began my entrepreneurship journey.

Now, at the beginning of 2018, I’m running my own business and planning it’s growth for the next 10 years.

And, finally, I’m pursuing the goal that gives me complete satisfaction.

There’s still a long way to go before I can conclude ‘I’ve succeeded.’

But for now, I’ve doing well enough to achieve most of the goals I’ve set.

Takeaways:

Don’t blindly pursue any idea.

Before investing time and effort, test whether the idea will work.

If it works, see whether you can replicate it again to validate.

Once validated, do everything you can, and you need to scale it up.

Don’t relax or feel elated at the first success

Because…

It’s just the beginning…

And there is a long road ahead to success.

The Six Qualities of Greatness!

Greatness lies in the journey, not the result. If success is our only drive, we may achieve financial wealth, but we may not achieve greatness. Greatness is much deeper than money. Greatness is an expression of our character.

1. Leadership

Greatness in leaders is expressed though a positive attitude. For this reason, we must add a positive attitude to everything we do. When we do this, it causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes to come our way. Our positive attitude must be powerful enough to infect every one of our team members. It is our attitude that motivates our team members to achieve the goals that have been placed in front of them.
How we respond to our team members when the stakes are high and the consequences really matter is what helps them to be fearless. As leaders, we must lay the groundwork for our team members to succeed, and then we must possess the humility and self-confidence to sit back and watch them shine. A leader who possesses greatness will take more than his or her fair share of the blame when things go wrong and be satisfied to take less than a fair share of the acknowledgment when success occurs.

2. Service

To be of real service in this world, we must add something to other people's lives that cannot be bought. To be great, we must always give everything, and everyone we care about, our energy, drawing on the highest levels of sincerity, honesty and integrity.
We must be willing to invest our time and our hearts into whatever it is we represent. When we make good on what we do and see ourselves making a significant difference in the lives of others, we can be sure we’re investing our efforts in all the right ways and all the right things. We each have greatness in us and the potential to give something unique and special to to this world. When we blend our individual talents with the desire to serve others, we experience a beauty in life that exalts our spirit.

3. Results

Getting the results we desire comes from how hard we work and how optimistic our outlook is. Greatness is developed out of the understanding that our time in this world is limited, so we must be mindful not to waste any of our time trying to live someone else’s life.
We have to combine our passion and persistence to follow our own dreams. We must strongly resist being trapped by limiting beliefs that come from the naysayers in our lives. We have to have the courage to follow our gut instinct, to put all of who we are into what we want to achieve and consistently produce the results we’re looking for. Big results require big desires. To be great, we must allow the desire for the results we seek to spark what is extraordinary from within us.

4. Efficiency

Greatness is never a one-person job. Greatness is the ability we each have to drive effective, consistent and empathic communication. The meetings we hold must be deliberate and intentional. They should be organized, have rhythm and be clear about the purpose at hand so that all of our team members feel included and engaged throughout the process.
There is no path to profitability without effective and efficient communication. Profitability comes from productivity, efficiency, management, strictness and the way we manage our time and business. If we choose to make a meaningful contribution in this world, we must value our time, the time of others and the energy it takes to get to where we want to go. We cannot afford to allow poor communication and resentments to get in the way of our being efficient and profitable.

5. Quality

To possess greatness, we must care deeply about the quality of service we offer. Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of conscious effort. By putting out quality services and products, we increase our quality of life, our capacity to believe in ourselves and our levels of happiness.
The quality work we produce allows us to feel proud of who we are, what we do and how we impact the lives of other people. When we produce high-quality services or products, we live with the gift of having peace of mind. Quality decreases stress. For this reason, we must choose high-quality thoughts, emotions and actions to ensure that our greatness is expressed, recognized and appreciated.

6. Reliability

Greatness is reflected in the reliability of who we are as people and the services and products we offer. We must have some level of predictability in our character and in what it is that we sell or produce. If we can predict things, we have the ability to intervene when necessary to make sure that what we produce is exactly what we promised.  
 Greatness Begins With Understanding the Basics of Business
To be great, we must value the self-discipline and systems that make it impossible for things to go wrong. The more reliable we are, the more others will be willing to trust and depend on us to provide the quality service they are anticipating. We must be intentional about being on time, as well as confident, intelligent and calm. When we possess these qualities, we possess greatness.

IS IT HAPPENING IN 2018 ALREADY?

Hello,

Remember you had 2018 resolutions at the beginning of the year.

2018 is gradually fading out…

Two months gone!

The third is counting...

294 days remaining...

The things you promised to do

The innovative ideas you planned to work on

The habits affecting your health you intend to stop

But 71 days gone already and you are still here, uninspired, sunk in the same old attitude

And not knowing what to do. 

But there is a fresh start…

Everything is yours to take and achieve

But you can do much more than being miserable

But… you know something…

You aren't the only one

Most of the people are still doing exactly what they did last year…

They also had some new year resolutions...which they forgot before the first week is over

They had same dreams...took same actions...and ended up getting the same results.

They had  the same complaints and excuses.

If you ask what’s stopping them from achieving their goals…the answer will be the same…

They don’t have enough time….or

They don’t have the education or skills….or

They don’t have the money…

Reasons… stories… and excuses.

Please...Whatever you do, don’t let that person be you.

Listen… it is not what they lack that stops them...it’s their approach.

They wanted their life to change…

But they are not committed to making it happen.

Because when you just want something, you come up with stories, reasons, and excuses about why you can’t.

And when you are committed, those excuses and reason  go out the window…

You just do whatever it takes to achieve the goals….realize the dreams.

You know…

There is a huge gap between someone and his or her greatest dreams…

And the only way to bridge the gap is…

To begin no matter how odd…

To start no matter how little…

Today, this minute!. 

From wherever you stand.

We often forget the power of now…

And how what we’re doing today will affect the future.

Remember…

Time alone doesn’t change things.

Everyone was born equal.

Everyone has talents and greatness within

It’s how we use our time and resources that makes the difference.

And no one starts with everything necessary to achieve.

No one is going  to make the rest of your 2018 successful. 

This life of yours is 100% your responsibility and your handiwork. 

And it is best to  make it your best ever.

Don’t wait for things to change or happen…

Go… make it happen...TODAY!
